Mass with Bishop Wall
St. Bonaventure School was pleased to welcome Bishop James Wall – our newly ordained bishop for the diocese of Gallup on Tuesday, November 3rd. In addition to leading the students in worship in the school’s chapel, Bishop Wall took a brief tour of the school campus even stopping in a few of the classrooms to visit with the children. Afterwards he joined a pair of students from each grade for lunch in the school cafeteria where he got a chance to talk to, listen to and visit with children from each grade. The students were given the option of wearing their traditional Native clothing or their regular school uniforms, and several came dressed in Native American style.
Bishop Wall said that he was very pleased with the children’s respect and responses during the Mass.
After lunch, Bishop Wall was shown and informed of the mission’s outreach departments and ministries including the thrift store. He expressed his amazement at the extent of services accomplished by the Mission and its staff.
