St. Bonaventure Mission Update
St. Bonaventure Indian Mission and School is taking necessary action to ensure longevity of our mission programs and to maintain the highest level of financial responsibility. Due to the economic strains our country is facing and subsequent difficulties that the mission is encountering – the Executive Director with the full support of the Board of Trustees has made the very difficult decision to restructure the organization. Unfortunately, this restructuring will entail the laying off of several, dedicated and much respected employees. The mission is responding in this manner now, in order to try and prevent any further cuts to staff and programs in the future. We believe that by acting pro-actively at this time, we are best able to continue to serve the needs of the Navajo Nation as our mission statement calls for us to do.
To the wonderful and dedicated staff, that have served us faithfully for many years, that must be let go at this time, I want to thank them from the bottom of my heart, for their dedication and commitment that they have given and I wish them all the best for their future.
St. Bonaventure Indian Mission and School wants to thank all of our donors and friends for their heartfelt prayers and support and we ask that you continue to support the mission as we work to serve the Navajo Nation. We strongly believe that the painful decisions we are currently making are in the best interest of the mission and those we are called to serve.
St. Bonaventure Mission and School would like to send our gratitude for your generosity to all who help donate to our Navajo people during this holiday season.
Sharing Christmas Dinner was a delight for us with the community, we supplied them bags of immense items. Many children in happiness received christmas gifts from Santa.
Thank you for making this a wonderful time of year for our friends!
Peace,
Chris Halter, Mission Director
