National Hunger Awareness Day

St. Bonaventure Mission observed National Hunger Awareness Day, June 5, 2008, by giving out food boxes to those who need supplemental food. Area Chapter Houses were notified and helped to identify residents in need of extra nutritional support.

Each box contained enough food for approximately 12 nutritious meals and was given free of charge. Mission employees logged in recipients, and packed and carried food boxes for the elders. The day was a big success with the Mission giving out 150 boxes of nutritious, supplemental food to our hungry, mostly elderly, neighbors.
